TARA NA! BIYAHE TAYO SA MAYNILA!

The TROLLEY.
It is our first time to ride the trolley. We were really so excited and didn't mind even if its raining. The route taken by the trolleys is short: from the stations in Sta. Mesa and Pandacan, but they cross a bridge where you could easily fall into the Pasig.
The trolleys are makeshift carts with ball bearings underneath that fit nicely into the PNR’s narrow-gauged tracks. They are pushed by their operators in the same direction as the train. When the train arrives, the passengers alight, and the “pusher” just lifts his trolley off the tracks. An average trolley can accommodate 8 passengers, more than that and the pusher would have to exert a lot more effort. We took the trolley to Pandacan and back again to Sta. Mesa. We asked a favor to the trolley pusher if its okay that we are the one who will push the trolley and that's it!! We also experienced the feeling of a trolley pusher and that's the best part of our trolley trip.

The KALESA
Before the Jeepneys ruled the Philippine Roads and Avenues, there were Kalesa first or internationally famous as Horse Carriage. it was then become as the primary modes of transport in the Philippines long before the Jeepney and taxi came. Now Kalesa are rarely used in the streets but don't worry, kalesa are here to stay but only on some of the tourist spots and province here in the Philippines you can still find the Kalesa in Intramuros Manila, Binondo, Vigan, Angeles City and Iligan City. Being a first time kalesa-rider, it is a good way to get around the tourist spots in Manila such as The Rizal Park, The Fort Santiago, Intramuros and Manila Cathedral.
(But its better to negotiate with the Cochero (the Kalesa Driver) first before jumping in so you wont have any problem after the ride. :-) )

The PNR
When you say “sa riles ng tren”, it will automatically connote to us a slum area plus a noisy rusty train. But things have changed a bit. The old noisy rusty trains were now replaced by an air conditioned ones. This is our first time to ride a PNR train and from Sta. Mesa to Tutuban, it only costs 10php which made us think to experience it again some other time. It wasn’t bad after all, though its a little shaky, we’re really comfortable that time and it’s very cheap. Even though our train might not be comparable from the others like the Europe’s, but at least we have a cheap and improved train that is always ready to serve us.
